Food-waste composting is coming to Grove City. Residents can divert food waste from the landfill, beginning Monday, April 5, by collecting compostable materials at home and taking them to the new local composting container.
The City of Grove City partnered with GoZERO Services (GoZERO), a food-waste compost courier, to introduce a pilot composting program for residential use funded through a Community Waste Reduction Grant from the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO).

Once registration is complete, it’s easy to get started! Residents collect food waste in a container of their choice and then at a time convenient for them, dispose of the waste in the GoZERO lime-green containers located behind Brookpark Middle School, 2803 Southwest Blvd., in the rear corner of the west parking lot. Plastic baggies, grocery bags or trash bags should not be used. GoZERO empties and cleans the containers each week.
To use the no-charge service, residents must register with the Parks and Recreation Department so program details and updates can be shared. Register by calling 614-277-3050 or visit Recreation.GroveCityOhio.gov; an online account is required in order to register online. Use activity number 5152114_01.
