20 Ideas for Promoting Your Business
At this Chamber Member Breakfast, participants will get ideas for promoting their new or growing business in Grove City. Discussions will include all of the opportunities and parameters to market the physical location of your business, increase word-of-mouth opportunities and increase your online reach.

MATT YERKES
Matt is the founder of Cultivate, providing coaching and workspace for startups. Matt launched his first SaaS business called Honeycomb Archive in 2001. Matt has started a range of successful endeavors with a passion of helping Cultivate business startups. These startups include several web based SaaS brands, an event center, commercial real estate development and non-profit organizations. His expertise is geared toward b-to-b software, digital asset management, e-learning, enterprise level sales and hosted web applications.
LAURA L. SCOTT
Laura Scott is the Planning and Zoning Coordinator for Grove City Building Division. Laura has been involved in the code administration and the building safety professions for over 30 years. Before coming to Grove City, Laura was the Vice President of Chapter Relations for the International Code Council (ICC), an association dedicated to developing model codes and standards used to design and build safe and sustainable structures. During her 17 year career with the Code Council Laura held the positions of instructor, member services representative, chapter manager and technical staff. Laura began her career in code administration with the City of Columbus, Ohio where she became a successful code enforcement supervisor, housing and zoning inspector, code writer and trainer. Laura feels strongly about giving back and supports organizations and projects benefiting special needs children and young women. Laura was a recipient of the Grove City Chamber’s Veronica L. Sheets award for her work on the Dream Field Project. She enjoys spending time with family in the beautiful Hocking Hills of Ohio.
KATIE BROWDER-PERSON
Katie is owner of Katbro Marketing http://www.katbromarketing.com/ Katbro provides digital marketing and social media strategy. In our '20 Ideas For Promoting Your Business' Katie will provide insights and ways to leverage social media and online marketing ~ specifically targeted to Grove City. Katie Browder- Person has 10 years of hands-on Marketing and Community Relations experience. She attended college at Ohio Dominican University where she studied both Communications Studies and Public Relations. While still a student at Ohio Dominican University, she started her official career in the area of public relations and marketing in 2007 as the Community Liaison for the Columbus Neighborhood Health Centers (CNHC), an affiliate of the Columbus Health Department. In this position she organized press conferences, communicated directly with the media, and built relationships with other agencies to further the organization’s mission. Through the many relationships she obtained from this positions she was able to come in contact with a variety of individuals with various backgrounds, cultures and economic status.
In late 2008 the company reorganized, which appointed Katie in the position of Interim Director of Marketing, at the age of 27, she was the youngest person ever hold the role of director in the organization. In this short term position she moved the organization into adopting a more digital presence with the development of an interactive website, online advertising and a highlighting the benefits of social media. Beyond this position, Katie has also worked in several contractor positions as a marketing professional with United Healthcare, Cardinal Health, Huntington Bank, Easton Healthcare Centers as well as performing as a freelancer for numerous small and mid-sized businesses. In 2013, Katie decided to turn her love for freelancing into a REAL business, KatBro Ltd, where she could assist growing entrepreneurs like herself find their voice in the online marketplace. Katie believes in giving back to the community that raised her. She is involved with many Central Ohio nonprofits organizations and faith-based organizations. She is currently an advisor in the area of digital marketing for the Increase CDC and a contributing member of the Women’s Business Center (WBC). Katie was recently nominated as the 2017 Advisor of the Year for the Increase CDC. Katie has moved her business to the Grove City area joining the Cultivate family of Entrepreneurs. She believes that this is where her small business will grow into a seven-figure brand.
ED FLEMING
Ed Fleming owns Shepherd Insurance Partners located in the historic Town Center of Grove City. Ed has worked in the insurance industry for 10 years and has owned his agency for two. Ed is very active in the community and sits on the Chamber Board of Directors as the Government Liaison. Ed prides himself on connecting his clients with each other to help create mutually beneficial relationships. Ed has lived in Grove City for most of his life. He is married to the wonderful Alison Fleming and has two adorable girls, Audrey and Caroline
