Maintenance Technician I -1st shift

Technician I schedules and performs routine facility and manufacturing equipment / system related preventative maintenance and assists maintenance and facility technicians with repairs.

Reporting Relationships
The Technician I reports to the Area Department Supervisor or Manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Schedules, performs, and completes Preventive Maintenance on TSMD’s facility equipment and systems.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Assists on-boarding activities of new technicians.
  • Supports technicians with equipment repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Understands and adheres to all safety requirements.  Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
  • Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct.  Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
  • Other related duties.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
 
 
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with different personnel throughout the workday.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic aptitude of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Temperature, and/or Vacuum Principles
  • Basic problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Ability to document and effectively communicate the work performed.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements
  • May work from settings requiring ladders, lifts, or from the rooftop and other situations requiring exposure to heights.
  • Frequent bending/twisting required.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.
